The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off a loss to the Calgary Flames on Monday, having previously won four consecutive games. They will face the Seattle Kraken tonight, who are also coming off a loss, against the Minnesota Wild.

This will be the Kraken’s fourth consecutive home game before they face the Flames on the road. They will then return home for another five-game homestand.

Auston Matthews has made an excellent start to the season for the Leafs, tallying nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 14 games. All three totals lead the team. Matthews appears to be bouncing back this year after recording the worst statistical season of his career last year, when he finished with 27 goals, 26 assists and 53 points.

The Kraken are a very well-rounded team, with eight players contributing at least eight points so far this season. Kaapo Kakko leads the team with 10 points, including two goals and eight assists, while Frédérick Gaudreau leads the team in goals with six.
