The Los Angeles Rams are going all in.
After Sean McVay, Les Snead, and co. orchestrated a trade for one of the greatest defenders of all-time, former Cleveland Brown Myles Garrett, they also convinced future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Aaron Donald to come out of retirement.
Donald surprisingly retired after the 2023 season at 32-years-old, and three years later, one of the best pass-rushing interior lineman ever is back.
Garrett and Donald now form one of, if not the greatest, defensive line duos in the sports' history. Garrett is the 2x Defensive Player of the Year and just set an all-time record for most sacks in a season last year with 23, while Donald is a 3x DPOY winner.
Donald has been a First-Team All-Pro eight times, including in his most recent season a few years ago, and finished with 12+ sacks from 2018-2021.
Now, the super-human pass-rushers are on a team that was a couple plays away from a Super Bowl appearance last year, and a team that also acquired two-time All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie before the NFL Draft.
The Rams knew exactly what their weaknesses were from last year and attacked them aggressively in the offseason. They had problems playing man coverage and getting to the quarterback late in games with their front four. Both weakness are now major strengths.
LA might also very well know that quarterback Matthew Stafford is on his last legs as a player and they know they need to take advantage of his talent before it expires.
Stafford won the MVP last year after a phenomenal season that included 46 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions, but there were concerns about how much he would even be able to play heading into the year.
He had an aggravated disc in his back that severely limited him during the offseason training activities in 2025, but he proved that he can play through it, at least for a year. To prepare for the inevitable, LA drafted quarterback Ty Simpson in 2026.
Regardless, it looks like Stafford will be on track to play at an elite level again this year. The trade for Garrett and McDuffie, plus the signing of Donald, has made the Rams the unquestionable favorite to win the Super Bowl in 2026.
