After blowing out the No. 1 seeded Detroit Pistons in Game 7, the Cleveland Cavaliers will meet with the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals, starting tonight.
The Cavs played a grueling series against one of the best defensive teams in the league, but Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and the Cavs' shooters showed up enough to win four of seven games.
Big games from different Cavs players were a trend in the series: Max Strus scored 19 in Game 1 and 20 in Game 5, Mitchell scored 35 in Game 3 and 43 in Game 4, Harden had 30 points in Game 5, and Sam Merrill and Jarrett Allen each scored 23 in Game 7.
Cleveland will need that trend to continue against the Knicks that have dominated the playoffs so far.
New York knocked off the hot Atlanta Hawks in six games in the first round as Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each averaged over 21 points per game (26.3 for Brunson).
After going down 2-1 in the series, the Knicks beat the Hawks by 16+ points in each game thereafter, including a 140-89 series-clinching win in Game 6.
They kept up the momentum and swept the Philadelphia 76ers easily, beating them by 30+ points in two of the four games.
The depth and three-point shooting has been put on display in the playoffs - six difference players averaged double-digits against the Sixers and the team shot 44.8% from three during the series.
While Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, Miles McBride, and Landry Shamet have all been efficient, Brunson has done most of the work offensively.
The superstar guard averaged 26.3 points against the Hawks and 29.0 against the Sixers and shot efficiently against both teams.
Against the Cavs this year, Brunson averaged 25.7 points, but shot a poor 33.9% from the field. He's see a multitude of coverages, but he should be able to attack the perimeter defenders on Cleveland.
Ahead of Game 1 that starts at 8:00 PM ET, here's a look at Brunson's player props, odds, and lines, with odds provided by bet365:
