Minnesota Timberwolves Post-Trade Outlook

Grade: A+

The Minnesota Timberwolves have identified and acquired the exact player that they need to complete their team heading into the final 30 games of the 2025/26 season and into the playoffs.

Minnesota acquired point guard Ayo Dosunmu, and sent out Mike Conley (to Charlotte), Rob Dillingham, and four 2nd round picks. Conley is aging and not the player he used to be, while Dillingham has not had the ability to develop on the Timberwolves - A team looking to win now with Anthony Edwards leading the team, so they added a guard in his prime to help the team do just that.

Dosunmu will take significant pressure off of Edwards as a ball handler and facilitator, and allow him to focus on what he does best - score the basketball.

The 26-year-old has averaged 15.0 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting45.1% from three this season in Chicago. Dosunmu will immediately help Minnesota shoot and defend guards at a higher rater while also handling the ball.

Ayo Dosunmu is exactly the player that the Timberwolves need, and is a huge upgrade over the players that he will be replacing. For those reasons, Minnesota gets an 'A+' for this deal.

Chicago Bulls Post-Trade Outlook

Grade: C

The Chicago Bulls are selling off their players at a very rapid rate, and acquiring a significant amount of 2nd round picks (8 in the past three days). Chicago could either be adding all of these assets to rebuild, or flip them again for anther player before the deadline.

By adding the 21-year-old Dillingham, it looks as if the Bulls are hitting the reset button to build a future team rather than improve the one they have right now.

With that said, the hit rate on second round picks is very small, so Chicago will need to get very lucky on one of their eight seconds for this trade to look okay in the future.

Since the Bulls traded away a proven NBA player in Dosunmu for a gamble on Dillingham and a bunch of 2nd rounders, the team in Chicago earns a very mediocre 'C' for this deal.
