Dana White's Contender Series has become far more than a proving ground for aspiring mixed martial artists.
Over the past decade, the Tuesday night showcase has produced future stars, title contenders, and even UFC champions, proving that one standout performance can change an athletes career forever.
As the series continues to introduce new prospects and the next generation of talent, these four champions stand out as the greatest success that has come out of the Dana White Contender Series (DWCS) so far.
Sean O'Malley
Sean O'Malley made an unforgettable impression by a spectacular first-round knockout defeating Alfred Khashakian in the second week of Season 1 of DWCS in July 2017.
Rather than being just another name on the roster, he became one of the biggest stars in the UFC.
He made his UFC debut in March 2018 at UFC 222, defeating Andre Southkamthath in the third-round by unanimous decision.
His breakthrough came at UFC 292, where he knocked out Aljamain Sterling in the second-round in August 2023, winning the Bantamweight Championship title. O'Malley went on to successfully defend his title against Arlon Vera at UFC 299. He then lost the belt to Merab Dvalishvilli in September 2024.
O'Malley emerged from the inaugural season of the Contender Series as exactly the type of athlete Dana White and his matchmakers were looking for when they launched the show.
Jamahal Hill
Jamahal Hill proved that Dana White's Contender Series could produce world champions when he became the first alumni from the show to capture a belt.
In July of 2019, Hill earned his UFC contract by overwhelming his opponent with strikes, winning in a second-round knockout victory over Alexander Popec.
Hill's rise came with critical wins over top contenders like Ovince Saint Preux, Jimmy Crute, Johnny Walker, and Thiago Santos in the light heavyweight division.
His defining moment came at UFC 283, defeating Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision to claim the vacant light heavyweight title in January 2023.

Jack Della Maddalena
From the very first time Jack Della Maddlaena stepped inside the Octagon on Season 5 of DWCS, he showcased the same skills that would later define his career.
In September 2021, he secured his contract after a unanimous decision victory over Ange Loosa, highlighted by his precise boxing skills and finishing instincts.
His career defining moment came at UFC 315, when he defeated Belal Muhammed by unanimous decision in the fifth-round winning the UFC Welterweight Championship in 2025.
In his defense title bout, Jack Della Maddalena lost the belt to Islam Makhachev via unanimous decision in the fifth-round.
He remains one of the UFC's top welterweight contenders, evolving into the star Dana White envisioned when he earned a contract on DWCS in 2021.
Carlos Ulberg
Carlos Ulberg secured a first-round knockout victory in Season 4 of DWCS and has evolved into one of the most dominant athletes in the light heavyweight division.
After knocking out Bruno Oliveira to earn his UFC contract in 2020, he lost his UFC debut to Kennedy Nzechukwe in the second-round at UFC 259.
Since that first bout, he has remained undefeated in the light heavyweight division. His turning point came at UFC 327, when he defeated former Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka with a first-round knockout in April 2026.
Ulberg now stands as the Light Heavyweight Champion, becoming the fourth DWCS graduate to secure a UFC title.
