Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are set for a Tuesday night showdown at Truist Park in Atlanta.

First pitch for Tuesday's contest is slated for 7:15 p.m. ET on TBS.

This will be the fourth meeting between these teams this season, as Atlanta took two-of-three from Los Angeles back in early May. Entering this contest, the Braves should feel good about their chances of finding the win column once again.
The Dodgers have struggled in August, but they enter this matchup riding a 6-game win streak. However, those wins came against the Rockies and Pirates – two teams who are at the bottom of their respective division standings.
Going on the road to face the NL East-leading Braves presents a much tougher challenge for the Dodgers.

Starting on the mound for Los Angeles will be veteran right-hander Tyler Glasnow. He will be making his first start since May 6, after missing several months with a back issue. The Braves have one of the most powerful lineups in baseball. This season, Atlanta ranks 8th in total runs scored (614) and 7th in home runs (168). Look for Atlanta to give Glasnow some problems.
The Dodgers have a dangerous lineup of their own, and while Bryce Elder has been solid in recent outings, facing LA is never without challenges. Only three teams in baseball have scored more runs this season than the Dodgers, and their team OPS of .761 ranks 2nd in MLB.
The Dodgers have also had no problem producing at the plate when on the road. More specifically, Los Angeles’ OPS of .792 on the road is the best in baseball by a significant margin. With that in mind, the Dodgers should be able to have a strong day at the plate.
All in all, both offenses should be able to plate enough runs to take this one over the listed total of 8.5.
Bryce Elder - Pitcher Strikeouts - 5 (+115)
After struggling mightily in June, Atlanta starting pitcher Elder has really found a groove in July and August.
The 27-year-old right-hander has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 5 of his 7 starts since the calendar flipped to June, and owns a 3.69 ERA in that stretch. That number is inflated due to one blow-up start against the Mets on August 10 in which he allowed 7 earned runs on 10 hits through 5.0 innings. Other than that, he has been extremely reliable over the last 2 months.
Elder has also seen success against the Dodgers this season. Back on May 10, Elder tossed 5.2 innings of shutout baseball and allowed just one hit. He also collected 4 strikeouts without issuing a single walk. That should give him plenty of confidence heading into this contest.
