Down 0-2, the San Diego Padres need a big night on offense to extend the NLDS versus the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Padres have only mustered five runs in the two games against Milwaukee combined - certainly not a recipe for success. The Brewers haven't done much better with their bats (seven runs in two games), but they've been especially clutch - highlighted by William Contreras' go ahead shot in the seventh inning in Game 1 and Jackson Chourio's walk-off single off Mason Miller in Game 2.
Of course, Ty France's controversial fly ball out (that potentially would've been a home run if it didn't hit the roof) would've been a massive boost for the Padres offense. Outside of his hit, San Diego hasn't come very close to hitting a homer in this series.
The friendly confines of Petco Park could change things, however, as the crowd lifts their team up that very few venues in MLB can match. The Padres went 51-30 at home (compared to 40-41 on the road) this year and need a win to stave off elimination tonight.
