The Denver Nuggets were embarrassed by the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round, as Denver showed no fight to try and claw their way out of an early double-digit deficit.
Perhaps that effort had something to do with Denver missing their two best defenders - Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson.
Each of those Nuggets have dealt with multiple hamstring injuries throughout the season (which spread to the calf for Gordon), and each have been sorely missed for a Denver team that simply isn't big or strong enough to compete with the number of large forwards Minnesota has.
The Wolves' constant attack of the rim needs to be plugged somehow, but Gordon and Watson are the best paint defenders on the team, and both are in some doubt to play the rest of the way.

Gordon felt soreness in his calf after Game 2 and was downgraded to questionable, and eventually out, in the hours before Game 3.
Gordon is a central cog to the dominant Nuggets' starting lineup, but when he's out, their defense falls off a cliff.
The former Slam Dunk king averaged 16.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49.7% from the field and 38.9% from three, but he played just 36 games in the regular season.
In Game 1, Gordon was a key factor in leading the Nuggets to a win, putting up 17 points and eight rebounds. Denver needs him back to have a chance to come back from the 2-1 series deficit.
Gordon is officially listed as day-to-day with a calf injury and is questionable to play in Game 4.
With the Nuggets in desperation mode, Gordon may try and battle through the injury to be out there with the team for Game 4.
Gordon's string of injuries started with a right hamstring strain which then went down to his calf. Him playing in Game 4 could be a dangerous game, as calf injuries can sometimes creep down to the Achilles.
