Scottie Scheffler enters the 2026 BMW Championship with momentum after winning last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship, adding another statement victory to his season.

Now, the PGA Tour's top 50 players return for the second playoff event, with notable names such as Rory McIlroy and other FedEx Cup contenders looking to challenge Scheffler and keep their own championship hopes alive.

With the field shrinking and the stakes rising, every shot will carry even more weight as the race for another FedEx Cup moves closer to its finale.

Bellerive will play as a par-70 course measuring 7,448 yards, providing a challenging test for the 50-player field. The BMW Championship returns to to Bellerive for the first time since 2008, when Camilo Villegas won the event.

Notable field misses

Only the top 50 from the 2026 FedEx Cup field survived, leaving a few notable names absent from the 2026 BMW Championship.

Max Homa tied for 24th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, leaving him 53rd in the standings, while Spieth's tie for 19th moved him to 52nd.

For Jordan Spieth, the result is especially frustrating after opening the tournament with a 65 and putting himself in position to advance. However, a two-over 72 on Saturday and an even-par final round left him just outside the cutoff.

Shane Lowry's FedEx Cup playoff run has come to an end after the Irishman finished tied for 52nd at 3-over, leaving him 62nd in the final standings and outside the field for the BMW Championship.
