Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Oxford United defender Ciaran Brown during the January transfer window.
Journalist Alan Nixon has reported the news of the Blades' interest in the Northern Ireland defender.
However, it is claimed that fellow Championship side Lincoln City are also keeping tabs on Brown's situation.
Brown's name was in the spotlight on Friday as he scored his first two international goals in Northern Ireland's impressive 3-0 victory over Ukraine.
He has now won 33 caps for his country and has become an integral part of Michael O'Neill's side.
Whilst his efforts in front of goal have stolen some of the headlines during the current international period, it is his performances in defence that have stood out in recent times.
Brown has made over 170 appearances for Oxford over the last five years and he was a key part of the team that won promotion from League One in 2024.
He was also part of the team that were relegated from the Championship last season and the chance to return to the second-tier with either Sheff Utd or Lincoln could appeal.
The potential capture of Brown would be a shrewd move given his experience and the fact that the Blades are needing to keep a handle on the purse strings.
