Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure looks set for his first foray into club management, with the 43-year-old linked with a European job.
Toure is a familiar name for fans of English football after his stint with Manchester City where he collected three Premier League titles.
Since hanging up his boots in 2019, the Ivorian has been involved with coaching at several clubs and national team setups, including his most recent role as assistant manager of Saudi Arabia.
Now the 43-year-old is on the verge of landing his first managerial role, with a club who will be competing in UEFA Champions League qualifying next season.
After five years of gathering valuable coaching experience, Toure is reportedly set to be named manager of Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava.
According to Marca journalist Matteo Moretto, Toure is 'one step away' from replacing Vladimir Weiss as manager of the Slovak outfit, with the former boss moving on to manage the Slovakian national team.
Toure will be walking into a club that has dominated their domestic league in recent years.
Bratislava have won the Slovak First League eight seasons on the bounce and they are also the most successful club in the nation's history, with a total of 16 league titles.
Slovan Bratislava will also be competing on the European stage again next season, with the club set to play a UEFA Champions League second round qualifying match later this month.
The incoming Toure could provide valuable experience for his players in the tournament.
He was part of the Barcelona 2008/09 treble winning side that won the UEFA Champions League, alongside stars such as Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry.
Toure's move into management emulates that of his older bother Kolo, who was briefly in charge of Championship outfit Wigan Athletic in 2022, before joining Pep Guardiola's coaching setup at Manchester City following his sacking at the Latics.
