Xiao Guodong will have to defy his pre-tournament outsider tagging if he is to secure an unprecedented Wuhan Open treble in his homeland over the next week.
The 37-year-old has gone back-to-back in the competition over the past two years, reigning supreme with a 10-7 victory over compatriot Si Jiahui in 2024 before reclaiming his crown by virtue of a tantalising final frame shootout triumph against Gary Wilson 12 months ago.
Guodong's price of 11/1 is significantly longer than the two favourites, Judd Trump and Zhao Xintong, both of whom have been installed at 7/2.
(Odds will display when the market is available).
In fact, Trump is the only other player - aside from Guodong - to have captured the top prize in the Wuhan Open with the event being a relatively new addition to the tour calendar.
There will be a plethora of players fancying their chances of reigning supreme in Wuhan for the first time including serial winner Ronnie O'Sullivan (7/1) and fellow WST stalwarts Mark Williams (10/1) and John Higgins (18/1).
Mark Selby (11/2) and Shaun Murphy (8/1) are both priced somewhat appealingly, whilst reigning World Snooker Championship titlist Wu Yize should also garner attention at 13/2.
