After the Covid-19 pandemic brought a halt to ranking events being held in China, snooker returned to the far east with the Wuhan Open in 2023.
Prior to the Wuhan Open, the previous ranking event held in China was the 2019 World Open, though the Wuhan Open is now a regular fixture on the snooker calendar, taking place in the autumn.
Chinese star Chang Bingyu is the current defending champion of the Wuhan Open after capturing his maiden Tour win with a 10-7 victory over compatriot Zhao Xintong.
