Wrexham have been active in the transfer market looking for goalkeeper reinforcements, and with the news that Pierce Charles is signing for QPR on loan from Manchester City, they have turned their attention to another Premier League shot stopper.
After narrowly missing out on a playoff spot on the final day of last season, Phil Parkinson's men will be chasing a few new additions to take them over the line next term.
It appears that strengthening between the sticks is the first port of call, as Everton and Ireland goalkeeper Mark Travers has been linked with a move to the Welsh club by Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider.
Everton are resigned to losing the 27-year-old over the summer, with interest from the Premier League and Championship as he chases more minutes on the pitch.
Travers only featured on two occasions in all competitions last season, both in the EFL Cup as the Toffees fell in the third round away to Wolves.
He did also turn out twice for the Republic of Ireland, starting their 1-1 draw with Canada in June and replacing Caoimhin Keller with half an hour to play against North Macedonia back in March.
The two appearances take his international total to six at senior level.
Reports suggest that the Red Dragons were also interested in Sunderland's Anthony Patterson, but will not be able to afford the fee the Black Cats were asking for. Although there is no indication what that may have been.
Travers therefore represents a much more affordable signing for Wrexham, with Everton apparently looking to make a small profit on the £4m they paid for him.
At 27, the shot stopper is heading into his prime years and should be playing regular football to reflect that and David Moyes' side appear to be in agreement, with rumours appearing regarding them signing veteran 'keeper Sam Johnstone that would allow the Irish man to move on.
