It's so good to see Nathan Aspinall finally starting to put his recent demons to bed and look far more like the player we have come to know and love over the past five or six years.

He's throwing with real authority at the minute and appears to be really enjoying his darts, which bodes well for him as we move into the crunch part of the campaign.

In Ryan Joyce he will be taking on an opponent who is in fine spirits himself, but whilst he will fancy his chances of capitalising on Luke Littler's early exit, I do feel Nathan will have enough in his locker to advance to the last four.

Gerwyn Price faces his friend and Welsh compatriot Jonny Clayton in what should be another absorbing showdown on Friday night.

The two players know each other like the back of their hands and that should lend to a belting encounter as they battle it out for a World Grand Prix semi-final berth.

History shows there is very little to separate them, however, I just feel Gezzy really has the bit between his teeth at the minute and he will know that there is a real chance to get another big title win under his belt.

Next up, we have World Darts Championship finalist Gian van Veen taking on James Wade and whilst Wadey rightly has plenty of backers in that match, I am taking the Dutchman to prevail.

He was somewhat fortuitous to squeeze past Ryan Searle last night, taking advantage of a number of missed doubles, but I think we will see an improved performance from him this time around.

James has been one of the form players this calendar year, but Gian, on his day, definitely has his number, and I just feel today is that day.

Finally, in this evening's last quarter-final tie, we see the return of Luke Humphries as he attempts to keep hold of his title aspirations against one of the surprise packages of the tournament, Niels Zonneveld.

Niels has quietly gone about his business in Leicester and now finds himself on the periphery of the semi-finals of this event for the first time, but, for me, this is where his race ends.

Luke undoubtedly can't afford to take his opponent lightly, because he is a quality operator, but I just feel the former Alexandra Palace king's scoring power and composure in those big moments will see him through.
