Keith Deller MBE has picked out his best bets for Sunday's 2026 World Grand Prix final between Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries.
Gerwyn Price faces Luke Humphries in what should be a compelling and extremely close World Grand Prix final.
A repeat of the 2023 showpiece, this match is incredibly hard to call as both players have been fantastic throughout the tournament.
Both are desperate to end their run without a major title, and Humphries in particular will not want the record of being a runner-up for a third consecutive year.
Cool Hand made history by becoming the first player to reach the final in four consecutive years at the double-in event with his 5-3 victory over James Wade and victory in tonight's contest will be a huge confidence boost as the PDC calendar hots up between now and the end of the year.
Price will be competing in his fourth World Grand Prix final, and his first since losing to Humphries in 2023. He survived by the skin of his teeth against compatriot Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals, and he managed to navigate a partisan crowd against Nathan Aspinall to win pretty convincingly.
Neither have been remarkably consistent, but both will feel they possess the game to triumph.
While Humphries has been getting away on D16, Price has been able to rely on D20 and this will ultimately come down to who can score the heaviest between the doubles.
I can see this match going down to the wire, which is why I expect to see at least 10 sets and the 180s will flow with it. Humphries notched up 10 in his win over Wade, while Price produced six in both of his victories over Clayton and Aspinall.
Some of the finishing on display by Humphries and Price has been exquisite and I don't envisage the pair having much trouble with producing at least four ton-plus checkouts, which completes my 7/5 Bet Builder.
If you're looking for a bit more value in the final, I also like the look of Humphries averaging 92.5 or more - the former world champion has exceeded that figure twice in wins over Jermaine Wattimena and Wade, and he's proven he can produce his best darts in high-pressure matches.
