We take a look at whether Ronaldinho will play for Ravenna after it was confirmed the Brazilian will join the Serie C club.
“New colours, same smile,” Ronaldinho said.
“I can’t wait to be able to dance on the ball again to write a new story together with Ignazio and the whole Cipriani family. Football has always been a source of joy for me, I want to bring the same spirit to Ravenna.”
The announcement has excited football fans from around the world with the thought we could see one of the world's greatest ever talents grace the pitch once again.
Ravenna compete in the third tier of Italian football and will be aiming to win promotion after narrowly missing out last season.
Ronaldinho's arrival is set to be officially announced at a special event in Miami on Tuesday 23rd June.
Ravenna honorary vice-president Ariedo Braida has quashed rumours Ronaldinho will be representing the club in a playing capacity.
He said: “Ronaldinho will do a marketing event with us, but he won’t play for Ravenna in Serie C next season.
“I wish he were still able to play. Dinho was a phenomenon and was a wonderful player.
“I have a beautiful relationship with him from the Milan days, but he won’t play in Serie C with us.”
The 2005 Ballon d'Or winner made his last competitive appearance for Fluminense back in 2015.
