Xander Schauffele missed a birdie putt on the 18th hole at the Farmers Insurance Open to miss the cut by one.
It brought to an end one of the most impressive streaks on the PGA Tour, and indeed in PGA Tour history. Schauffele's cut streak stood at a remarkable 72, with his previous missed cut coming at the 2022 Masters, meaning he failed to miss a cut in any event in 2023, 2024 or 2025.
Excluding majors, you have to go all the way back to May 2021 when Schauffele missed the cut at the Players Championship.
Schauffele blamed late changes to equipment that he wasn't able to work through as the main reason for his missed cut.
That it's been so long for Schauffele and he still only just got halfway to Tiger Woods' record of 142 suggests it may be a little while before the all-time record is broken.
Woods first broke the PGA Tour record in 2003, starting his streak in 1998, eventually missing a cut at the Byron Nelson in May 2005.
Scottie Scheffler unsurprisingly holds the new longest record for cuts made with 69, after reaching the weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, three behind Schauffele's record, which was enough for fifth place on the PGA Tour.
Scheffler has made every cut in the last three years, with him last failing to play the weekend in August 2022 at the FedEx St Jude Championship.
