Roberto De Zerbi teases Tottenham 'bomba' signing: but who could it be?

"We have another bomba!"

Roberto De Zerbi teased another huge incoming at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the aftermath of his side's preseason victory over Sydney FC on penalties.

Transfer activity hasn't exactly been quiet in North London this summer so far either.

Sandro Tonali (£100m), Mateus Fernandes (£85m) and Jan Paul van Hecke (£52m) have all joined for sizeable fees, while free agents Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson and Martin Dubravka have all subscribed to the De Zerbi project.

The former Brighton and Marseille boss claims that Spurs have conducted around "60%" of their transfer business this window, promising more incomings ahead of the new season.

Manchester City winger Savinho has held talks with the club but, according to The Athletic, is not the 'bomba' that De Zerbi is referring to.

So, who could it be? We explore some potential options...

Premier League

Rafael Leao

Rafael Leao is maybe yet to deliver on the absolute maximum of his potential, however, he has still enjoyed a fine career and has plenty more to offer.

The Portugal international announced earlier this year that he would leave long-time club AC Milan, but his destination is yet to be confirmed.

Although he didn't get a load of minutes at the World Cup, he was still extremely eye-catching when he did and would be an excitement addition to the Spurs squad.

Antonio Nusa

A superb strike against the Ivory Coast at the World Cup catapulted Antonio Nusa into the public conscience and it looks like RB Leipzig stand to cash in yet again on one of their young prodigies.

Josko Gvardiol, Benjamin Sesko, Dominik Szoboszlai have all made their way from the German outfit to the Premier League in recent seasons and the 21-year-old could be about to join them.

Omar Marmoush

Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush was a revelation during his first six months at the Etihad but injury meant that he fell down the pecking order last season.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt man made just eight Premier League starts last term, getting on the pitch for just 700 minutes.

Rumours regarding a departure have swirled all summer long and Spurs have been mooted as potential suitors.

Andreas Schjelderup

An international teammate of Nusa's, the two competed for minutes in North America over the summer; both making an impression.

Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup is already known to England fans after he netted a somewhat fortunate opener against the Three Lions in the World Cup quarter-final and there is a chance that he could be playing his domestic football on these shores next season.

His star was already on the rise after bagging two assists in Norway's round of 16 clash with Brazil and he only looks like getting better.
