Where could Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua take place?

The eagerly anticipated, all-British bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is set to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The prospective fight between the heavyweight stars was plunged into doubt when the Gypsy King retired for a fifth time following a second successive defeat to former two-weight undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk, but Fury simply can't stay away from the sport and made his return to the ring against Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11th April.

While it took Fury a few rounds to shake off the cobwebs, he emerged victorious in relatively convincing unanimous decision fashion, before inviting AJ into the ring. The Matchroom-signed boxer declined his request and the two instead exchanged words at a distance, but the tension and noise surrounding the encounter implied that an agreement for the heavyweight rivals to lock horns was nearing.

While, according to Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, the all-British enouncter is "signed, sealed and delivered", it's yet to be seen as to where the fight could take place.

Read on as we take a look at which venue could host Fury-Joshua.

Wembley Stadium - London, England

Boasting a 90,000 capacity, which can be increased by utilising floor seating, London's state of the art Wembley Stadium is the biggest stadium in the UK and opened in 2007 following the demolition of the original Wembley, which was knocked down between 2002 and 2003.

Renowned for hosting the FA Cup semi-finals and final, along with the EFL Cup final and England national football team games, the multipurpose venue has also played host to numerous blockbuster boxing bouts over the years, including Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte and Carl Froch vs George Groves II.

There's no doubt that Fury-Joshua could sell out Wembley Stadium, with both heavyweights having sold out the venue in lesser circumstances, and so it would surely be considered if they opt to hold the fight in the UK.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - London, England

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become quite the hotspot for high profile fights since opening in 2019, hosting Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk in 2021, Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3 in 2022, and, arguably the most engaging to date, Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn in 2025.

Fury's third victory over Chisora marked the first time that he fought at the stadium, home to Premier League outfit Tottenham, and he returned to the venue when defeating Makhmudov on 11th April 2026.

The 62,850-capacity stadium could well be considered for Fury-Joshua, but the demand for tickets is expected to be rife and so Wembley's enhanced capacity may prove more logical.

Old Trafford - Manchester, England

Home to 20-time top-flight winners Manchester United, Old Trafford famously played host to Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank Sr 2 in October 1993, which concluded with a split decision draw.

The stadium is now home to 74,000 fans on matchday, and Man Utd fan Tyson Fury has previously revealed his ambition to fight at Old Trafford.

The majority of the UK's blockbuster fights do, however, take place in London, and so this may reduced the likelihood of the all-British clash heading to Manchester in the North West.

Kingdom Arena - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

It feels as though a fight consisting of two of the biggest names in British boxing history simply has to take place in England, but we can't downplay the financial influence of Saudi Arabia and boxing bankroller Turki Alalshikh.

Riyadh's Kingdom Arena has entertained a number of prominent clashes in recent years, including both Fury-Usyk fights, Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol and even the Queensberry vs Matchroom 5v5 card in 2024.

Should Fury-Joshua take place in Saudi, you'd assume that the Kingdom Arena would accommodate the fight. It's a scenario that would likely frustrate British boxing fans, who have been waiting the best part of a decade for this bout.
