West Brom have endured a dismal season under the stewardship of three different managers and a catastrophic drop to League One is on the cards.
There was a sense of optimism when Ryan Mason took the Baggies hotseat in June of 2025, but the former Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City midfielder paid the ultimate price for an underwhelming spell, dismissed on 6th January after a 2-1 loss to Leicester City marked the club's 11th successive away defeat.
While Mason was positively received when joining the club, fans were shocked to see West Brom hire 34-year-old Eric Ramsay, who had only taken on one managerial role, Minnesota United, prior to his appointment.
Drawing four and losing five of his nine games in charge, his tenure was cut short after just 44 days in charge.
While many suspected that the club would go out and get an experienced head coach to steer them to safety, they appointed club legend James Morrison as interim manager.
While the former midfielder does lack in experience, he led the club to seven consecutive games without defeat with a 0-0 draw against play-off candidates Millwall, though they remain firmly in the mix at the bottom and survival is by no means guaranteed.
West Brom last played in the third tier in the 1992/93 season, where they finished fourth in the standings and earned promotion to the second tier via the play-offs.
The Baggies won 25, drew 10 and lost 11 of their 46 league outings, before defeating Swansea City and Port Vale to make the jump alongside league winners Stoke City and second placed Bolton Wanderers.
Following their promotion, they enjoyed nine seasons in the second tier before eventually rising to the Premier League, where they finished 19th in their debut campaign and were subsequently relegated.
Since their most recent relegation from the top-flight in the 2020/21 season, they've spent four full seasons in the Championship and are on track for their lowest finish yet in the 2025/26 campaign, which could yet result in relegation.
