Sheffield Wednesday finished a turbulent season on a high as they celebrated their new ownership with a 2-1 win against West Brom.
Henrik Pedersen's side had been deducted 18 points over the course of the 2025/26 season and were also unable to spend any money on signings to strengthen their squad.
The Owls finished bottom of the Championship table with exactly 0 points after their final day victory over the Baggies, but the fans were in buoyant mood after their new owners were introduced before kick-off and it was confirmed they would not start next season with a points deduction in League One.
Sheffield Wednesday became the fifth club in English football league history to go 30 games without a win following the 2-1 loss at Derby County on Saturday 7th March.
Before the final day of the campaign, their last victory had come in a 2-0 win away at Portsmouth on Saturday 20th September.
They now hold the record for the longest winless run for an EFL club but can now start with a clean slate in 2026/27.
