There are now just four teams remaining in the UEFA Champions League following this week's quarter-final action.
Tuesday night saw Atleti hang onto their first-leg advantage over Barcelona while Paris Saint-Germain also pressed home their lead against Liverpool to keep hopes of a title defence very much alive.
The tie of the round took place between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, however.
It was Bayern who prevailed 6-4 on aggregate in the end, but a simply breathtaking 90 minutes at the Allianz Arena saw Madrid take the lead on three different occasions.
Arda Guler opened the scoring after 50 seconds before the German champions hit back in little over 5 minutes. Guler again stepped up to put his side ahead but Harry Kane undid his good work for the second time on the night.
Kylian Mbappe made it 3-2 but Madrid's efforts were ultimately in vain as late strikes from Luis Diaz and Michael Olise put the tie beyond any doubt.
Bayern will now face off against reigning champions PSG in a mouth-watering semi-final clash.
Arsenal - the only remaining English side in the competition - did what they had to against Sporting CP to reach the Champions League last four for the second consecutive year.
Arteta's men will now face Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.
So, when should Gunners fans book their plane tickets to Madrid for?
Arsenal's first-leg against Atleti will be played away from home at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday 29th April.
The return leg, of course taking place at the Emirates, is set for Tuesday 5th May.
Paris Saint-Germain will host Bayern Munich at the Parc de Princes on Tuesday 28th April before travelling to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 6th May.
