After three months, the Premier League returns, and with it a new Fantasy Premier League season.
While Mohamed Salah has left Anfield after nine hugely successful years with Liverpool, Bruno Fernandes steps up as the most potent midfielder in the Premier League, and after six-and-a-half seasons with Manchester United, where he's recorded 0.65 goals and assists per 90, the Portuguese will be a hugely popular FPL pick this term, despite his £12.0m price tag.
Defensively, Arsenal's Gabriel is another hugely popular player after scoring the third most points last season, but his lofty price tag of £8.0m has put enough players off to make team mate Riccardo Calafiori the most popular defender after his goal for the Gunners in the Community Shield.
And at the other end of the pitch, there are no prizes for guessing the most popular forward. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in plenty of teams as a bargain option, while Joao Pedro is in nearly two-thirds after scoring 15 goals last season, but Erling Haaland remains the most-owned player in the game, despite his record price of £15.5m.
The Premier League kicks off on Friday night as champions Arsenal play host to newly promoted Coventry City, with the deadline for gameweek 1 being 18:30 BST on Friday 21st August, meaning no changes can be made after then.
The opening weekend of the Premier League actually takes place over four days with Arsenal playing on Friday night and five games taking place on Saturday, including Manchester United v Hull City and Ipswich Town v Sunderland. There are three more games on Sunday including Manchester City v Bournemouth and Newcastle United v Liverpool.
Fulham and Chelsea then round off gameweek 1 on Monday night.
