Britain's Sonay Kartal will be aiming to complete the best week of her tennis career by winning the Shanghai Masters title when she plays Maja Chwalinska in Sunday's final.
The 24-year-old, playing in only her third tournament since a six-month lay-off with injury, has produced some sensational tennis and her semi-final victory over Jelena Ostapenko was no different.
Despite the former French Open champion coming out all guns blazing, Kartal stood firm and produced a great comeback in both sets to win two tiebreaks and break new ground by reaching a first ever WTA 1000 title.
Standing in Kartal's way of a fairytale success is Chwalinska, who herself enjoyed a memorable run to the French Open final earlier this year.
The 25-year-old Pole beat compatriot Iga Swiatek in the last four so will be full of confidence ahead of Sunday's showpiece.
