Popular heavyweight Dave Allen returns to the ring this evening when he takes on Ross McGuigan at the Magna Centre in Rotherham.
The White Rhino faced arguably his toughest test to date in May when he stepped up to face world-ranked heavyweight contender Filip Hrgovic in front of a baying hometown crowd in Doncaster.
Ultimately an opponent of the Croatian's calibre proved to be too much for Allen, and he was dominated from the opening bell before being stopped in the third of ten scheduled rounds at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Following the fight Allen was quick to reiterate his desire to fight on, and he will return to ring this weekend just 35 days after the defeat by Hrgovic.
Allen is expectedly to comfortably see off McGuigan this weekend, and he has already announced another upcoming fight on the 25th of July in Sheffield.
