Johnny Fisher has revealed that Zuffa Boxing have offered him a lucrative contract to become the latest British boxing star to jump ship to the upstart promotion.
Fisher returned to winning ways in December, overwhelming Ivan Balaz in four rounds in a featured bout on Matchroom's latest visit to the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo.
That fight marked his final bout of his long-term contract with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing and he is now a promotional free agent for the first time in his professional career.
Fischer's freedom to test the open market really couldn't have come at a better time.
Dana White's Zuffa Boxing are currently looking to establish a foothold in the UK after signing a long-term broadcast deal with Sky Sports, and have been investing heavily in signing British boxing standouts like Conor Benn and Chris Billam-Smith.
A popular - and relatively young heavyweight at 27, Fischer appears to have already found himself in White's crosshairs as he revealed that he has been offered a lucrative contract to join Zuffa.
"It's the offer that I've been made and I'm really excited that I've been made that offer," Fischer told The Stomping Ground. "I just want to see what can be done.
"There is a possibility that I don't even have to give Eddie matching rights to this because of a match that happened in the past... but that's besides the point.
"It wouldn't be right to try and challenge that, I want to give Eddie the chance to give me something close to that so let's see what Eddie comes back with.
"It's an exciting time for me. The money is one thing and it is for the level and the fights I'm being asked to have for it it's six or seven times what I've been offered by Eddie."
He continued: "I've been offered a one-fight deal but it is exceptional money. Obviously I've got to consider that because it is a lot higher than I've been offered [by Matchroom]."
After a brief stint in the amateur ranks Fisher first signed with Hearn in October of 2020 and has fought his entire professional career under the Matchroom Boxing banner.
With 13 wins from his first 13 fights, Fisher looked to be on course to challenge for regional honours before winning a contentious decision against Dave Allen in December 2024.
In May of last year the 'Romford Bull' suffered his first defeat when the pair rematched at the Copper Box in London, getting stopped in the fifth of ten scheduled rounds.
