West Ham are reportedly weighing up a move for FC Metz striker Habib Diallo this summer.
The Hammers are currently preparing for life in the Championship after their 14-year spell in the top flight came to an end in May.
With both Crysencio Summerville and Callum Wilson leaving West Ham to join Al Hilal and Brentford respectively, Nuno Espirito Santo has been on the hunt for some new recruits.
The club have been bolstered by the news that talisman Jarrod Bowen will not depart for pastures new, as he instead attempts to lead the club back into the Premier League- but the England international will need to be supported by some additional firepower.
According to a report from Football Insider, one of the names being discussed internally at the London Stadium is Senegalese international Diallo.
After initially graduating from the youth academy during his first spell at Metz, Diallo returned to the club last summer following their promotion back to the top flight of French football.
The 31-year-old has made 41 international appearances for Senegal, scoring 8 times and was part of the Lions de la Teranga side that made history when they were crowned Africa Cup of Nations winners in 2021.
Diallo registered four goals and two assists in 21 Ligue 1 starts last season and captained the side on a number of occasions but couldn't steer them away from the relegation zone and they ultimately finished bottom of the table.
With the drop back into Ligue 2 confirmed, Diallo is set to be one of a number of Metz players who will be allowed to leave the club for a cut-price fee, potentially opening the door for West Ham to swoop in.
The club are in need of a new frontman with Niclas Fullkrug expected to leave this summer after failing to find his feet in London in the two years since his £27million move from Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile Taty Castellanos and Pablo have both been linked with moves away from West Ham following the club's relegation.
