A verbal agreement is reportedly in place for Johnny Fisher to face Dillian Whyte in all-British heavyweight clash later this year.
'The Romford Bull' made his Zuffa Boxing debut when locking horns with Michael Pirotton at London's Copper Box Arena on Saturday night.
Dissimilarly to Conor Benn's controversial switch to Dana White's promotional company, Fisher made the Zuffa switch with the best regards from Eddie Hearn -- who publicly admitted that Matchroom Boxing could not match the massive financial proposal or the specific matchmaking approach offered by Zuffa.
Fisher's majority decision victory over Pirotton was far from convincing, but he got the job done nonetheless and he'll no doubt be looking for his next big payout after banking a reported seven figures at the weekend.
Dillian Whyte has been amongst the names mooted as a potential opponent for Fisher, and he expressed a willingness to take the fight when speaking after the 'Romford Bull's' victory.
He said: "I love boxing and I'll fight anyone. Be grateful that you have guys like me around because when we're gone, there will be a long drought in the heavyweight division.
"Credit to Johnny Fisher, because he's a big lump, he hasn't had time to learn a lot, but he's got a lot of courage, he's got a lot of heart, he's a big puncher and he's brave," he added.
"He's a bit frantic and that, but he's very brave and he's a big guy who punches hard. When the fight gets tough, he keeps trying and he keeps coming back.
You can never overlook that but let's be honest, I will knock Johnny Fisher out, simple as that.
- Dillian Whyte
The former elite heavyweight contender has rarely, if ever, ducked a fight, proven by his willingness to step inside the ring with leading British prospect Moses Itauma in August 2025.
Whyte has since revealed that he fractured a bone in his foot in the minutes before his Riyadh clash with Itauma, where he was defeated via TKO inside the first round.
'The Body Snatcher' is yet to return to the ring since his defeat in the Middle East, but his manager Michael Ofo has confirmed that a verbal agreement is in place for Whyte to fight Fisher.
He said: "The fight was agreed in principle following Fisher's win on Saturday night with a handshake between me and Fisher's manager Adam Morallee.
"I was unsure whether Fisher and his management would take the fight, in spite of Fisher having called Dillian out, so I called Adam over and asked him. He immediately responded: 'Absolutely. Let's do it next!'
"It would be a huge all-British clash and a massive event for London. So, let's stop talking and get it on!"
