Usman Nurmagomedov faces arguably his toughest test to date this weekend when he defends his PFL title against undefeated wrestler Archie Colgan.
The cousin and protege of UFC Hall of Fame inductee Khabib Nurmagomedov, Usman has been largely unstoppable inside the cage since making his professional MMA debut in 2017.
After a pair of fight of the year contenders against Irish standout Paul Hughes in 2025, Nurmagomedov continued his reign of dominance at 155lbs when he submitted Alfie Davis in February.
Now the 28-year-old will look to make the third defence of his PFL lightweight championship when he takes on the American Colgan in the main event of PFL's landmark New York event on Saturday night.
A decorated amateur wrestler out of the University of Wyoming, Archie Colgan has followed the well-trodden path taken by many of his contemporaries into the world of mixed martial arts.
Since coming over to the PFL from Bellator Colgan has rode a wave of momentum, picking up wins over Mansour Barnaoui and Jay Jay Wilson, and he will attempt to score a momental upset at the UBS Arena.

Since making his way stateside Nurmagomedov has proven himself to be one of the very best fighters in all of MMA.
As such, it's no surprise that the Dagestani comes into this weekend's fight as a huge favourite, despite the unquestionable quality of his opposition.
Nurmagomedov is 2/11 to get his hand raised on Saturday night, while Colgan is 7/2 to spring an almighty upset.
Since transitioning into mixed martial arts Colgan has been able to effectively utilise his wrestling skills to dictate where the fight takes place and nullify the offence of his opponents.
The American's last six victories have come via decision, though none were contested over five rounds like Saturday's title fight will be.
Meanwhile while Nurmagomedov has showcased his finishing ability in the past, he has proven to be willing and able to go the distance against elite competition.
