According from reports coming out of Spain, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has requested that the club make a move for Barcelona's Roony Bardghji.
The Sweden international only joined Barcelona from Copenhagen last summer for a reported €2.5m, but he could already be set for an exit to Aston Villa.
After finishing fourth in the Premier League table alongside lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy, the Villans are in a strong position to push for signings in the transfer market and a move for Bardghji would be a promising one.
At just 20 years-old, Bardghji is seen as one of the top winger talents in Europe, with a number of elite clubs circling last summer, before he ultimately moved to the La Liga champions.
His move to Barcelona has so far been somewhat of a dud, having been limited to just 28 appearances in all competitions and scoring just one La Liga goal in total last season.
Predominantly a right winger, the Swede would fill a problem position for Aston Villa, with the Europa League champions having been without a natural left sided winger for a number of years now.
Leon Bailey had been the man on that side of the pitch in Unai Emery's early days, but due to a significant drop in form, the Villans are in dire need of some attacking flair in that position.
Much has been made of Villa's want for a right sided attacker this summer, having been linked with a number of top talents, but the suggestion is that they are likely to bring more than one right winger to the club this summer.
With that in mind, a move for the five-cap Sweden international makes perfect sense, as there would be much less pressure on his shoulders if he isn't the sole signing in that role.
Any move for the winger is reported to cost around €25m, with Barcelona set to earn a 1000% profit on their original investment.
It remains to be seen which attacking players come through the doors at Villa Park this summer, but it is shaping up to be an exciting season for Villa fans, ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League.
