Turki Alalshikh reveals Fury, Joshua & Canelo plans in social media rant

Turki Alalshikh revealed future plans for Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia when hitting back at criticism in a passionate social media response.

Saudi boxing bankroller Turki Alalshikh has been at the heart of a number of blockbuster boxing cards in more recent years, and his authority in the sport is rapidly growing alongside the flourishing Riyadh Season.

Despite his and Saudi's growing influence that has produced the likes of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol and Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull, Turki was accused of losing interest in the sport by boxing reporter Michael Woods.

Woods posted: "Turki has been busy with other stuff? Losing interest in boxing? The momentum from last year has been absent."

Turki responded:

"Yes, I am very busy with other stuff. And to prove your point that I am too busy and not interested in boxing anymore, we just did Shakur-Teo, the biggest fight in MSG history, Garcia-Barrios in Vegas, one of the biggest fights this year.

"Next week I will be in London for the legend Tyson Fury vs. Makhmudov at Tottenham Stadium. And we have Usyk-Rico heavyweight title fight at the Pyramids. And that’s just the first half of 2026.

We are finalizing Canelo in Riyadh Season for September, planning to do two fights for Joshua, another for Tyson and another for Garcia in the second half.

"This is my schedule this year when I am busy and not interesting."

In defending his interest in boxing, Turki revealed plans for a number of boxing's biggest stars. Alongside stating that he is in the process of planning bouts for Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia in the second half of the year, he teased the imminent return of Anthony Joshua and a second 2026 fight for Tyson Fury.

The Gypsy King returns to the ring against Russian brute Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11th April, while Joshua has been training alongside former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

All paths seemingly lead to a legacy-defining, all-British clash between Fury and AJ, with Turki, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren all shedding a positive light on the potential bout which, you'd suspect, would take place in 2027.
