The return of Mohammed Kudus will feel like a new signing for Roberto De Zerbi as the Tottenham Hotspur attacker enters the final stages of his rehabiliation following surgery on a quadricep injury.
Kudus first suffered the issue in January when he was forced off during Tottenham's Premier League encounter against Sunderland.
It was anticipated the Ghanaian would face up to three months on the sidelines and become available again in April, but Kudus suffered a setback when nearing a return to first-team training.
Keen to avoid surgery in the hope he would be fit in time to feature for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, Kudus eventually accepted that an operation was the only way to rectify the issue, scuppering his plans to feature in the tournament.
The decision to go under the knife has delayed his Tottenham return, but De Zerbi will hope to have Kudus at his disposal in the near future.
Kudus excelled in the opening months of his Tottenham career, registering two assists on his Premier League debut for the Lilywhites against Burnley before registering six more goal contributions in his next 12 appearances.

Kudus returned to light individual training at the start of August and De Zerbi revealed the winger is "almost ready", although the Italian reiterated he will not rush the former Ajax and West Ham ace back into the fold.
“Kudus is almost ready, that is a big point for us,” De Zerbi said. “It's important also the management of the players, when the players have some problem, we have to stay calm, don't take risks.”
There is optimism at Hotspur Way that Kudus could be available before the three-week international window, which commences after Spurs' home Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday 19th September.
Tottenham have two other Premier League fixtures in September against Nottingham Forest (Saturday 5th) and Everton (Saturday 12th).
