Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa tips from the Football Betting Club

Two of the Premier League's winless sides meet in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off as Tottenham Hotspur host Aston Villa.

Despite the overwhelming pre-season buzz following a significant outlay in the summer, Tottenham find themselves in a similar position to the previous two seasons and have started the new league campaign with no goals in their opening four league games for the first time since 2006.

Roberto De Zerbi's goal-shy Spurs did find the back of the net in Tuesday's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup, but they will be hoping for a much more positive result when Unai Emery's Villans visit the capital.

Villa themselves have struggled in the first month of the new campaign following a major summer rebuild, picking up just one point from their four Premier League fixtures. The Midlands club have at least scored in the league this term, and they did record a confidence-boosting win over Coventry City in the EFL Cup in midweek.

The Football Betting Club's Nathan Joyes has been scouring the markets and has shared his best bet for an intriguing clash between Spurs and Villa.

Tottenham v Aston Villa Prediction & Tips

Best Bet: Under 2.5 Goals @ Evens

"I was quite surprised with this price, especially when we look at the performances of both teams," Joyes said on the latest Football Betting Club episode.

"You can easily turn around and say either one of these sides are due to score multiple goals and we saw that with Aston Villa against Club Brugge, but maybe taking a step out of the Premier League and into the UEFA Champions League helped relax them because we didn't see any of that against Nottingham Forest.

"They only had seven shots at home to Forest, who had 22.

"Spurs could only muster 0.69 xG last weekend against an average Everton side who largely decided to sit back, and their xG so far in the Premier League is less than 0.85 combined, which is just one of the many reasons why they haven't been scoring.

"So I see this game as a do not lose for both, but I was trying to work out if their value in Spurs at Evens - definitely not. Could I back Villa to get the job done at 5/2 plus? Probably not.

"It could be a scruffy 1-0 win for either side here, and when I saw under 2.5 goals at Evens, that felt like the standout bet.

"Yes, it's only won once in the previous five meetings, but both sides are in quite unique positions so far. The draw seems an obvious shout, but under 2.5 appears to be the more sensible play."
