The French giants have well and truly put years of European disappointment behind them, becoming only the second team since the UEFA Champions League was established in 1992 to win the competition in back-to-back years.
The influx of Qatari money in 2011 saw PSG rubbing shoulders with the elite of the game, though their strategy of signing superstar players, including Zalatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi bore no fruit. Following the ownership change, PSG reached four straight quarter-finals before being knocked out in the last 16 for three years in a row.
The club finally made the final in 2020 before four more years of disappointment, but the arrival of Luis Enrique has taken them to the summit of European football.
