Coco Gauff will be bidding to emulate the achievements of fellow American Jessica Pegula by booking her spot in the US Open semi-finals, but the fourth seed faces a stern test in the last eight against Mirra Andreeva.
Gauff lifted her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open and has since followed up with victory at last year's French Open.
However, the world number four will be hungry for more Grand Slam success and she should be confident that she can go all the way in New York again.
It was a slow start to the season for Gauff, but success in the final warm-up event in Cincinnati, where she defeated Pegula, suggested that she was a serious title contender at Flushing Meadows.
Gauff has yet to drop a set on her way to the last eight and she looked at the top of her game in her fourth-round win over compatriot Iva Jovic, easing to a 6-1 6-4 triumph.
Andreeva represents a tougher test and the 19-year-old will know that she has what it takes to mix it at the top table after her triumph at the French Open earlier this year.
The rising star had to battle back from a set down to see off Anastasia Potapova in the last-16 and this is the first time she has made the quarter-final of a hard-court Grand Slam.
Best Bet - Coco Gauff to win 2-0 @ 5/4
Alternative Bet - Over 9.5 double faults @ 8/11
Bet Builder - Coco Gauff to win, Under 3.5 match aces & 8+ match double faults @ 31/10
Best Bet: Coco Gauff to win 2-0 @ 5/4
Gauff will need to be on top form to see off Andreeva, but all the recent evidence suggests that she is primed to deliver.
Having struggled for consistency at the start of the year, Gauff has been working with biomechanics specialist Gavin MacMillan in a bid to strengthen her serve and forehand, something which is starting to pay off.
Gauff has lost only two of her 21 outings since the end of June, having also made the semi-finals at Wimbledon, and is on a 10-match winning streak after her title heroics in Cincinnati.
The world number four has won each of her last nine matches in straight sets and has barely been tested in New York, wrapping up three of her four victories in less than 90 minutes.
Andreeva had won her first three matches 2-0, but she was seriously pushed by Potapova in the fourth round, coming from a set behind to prevail in two hours and 33 minutes.
The main concern for Andreeva is that she has lost all five previous meetings with Gauff and three of those defeats saw her soundly beaten in straight sets.
So, with Gauff growing in belief, she may have too much tactical nous for her younger rival who is prone to dips in form due to her inexperience.
Alternative Bet: Over 9.5 double faults @ 8/11
These are two players that like to play positively and are keen to hit winners, so stamping their authority on serve is going to be crucial to the outcome.
Chasing perfection adds pressure and both have been prone to making a high number of double faults.
Andreeva made eight double faults in her fourth-round clash with Potapova and her last three US Open assignments have all reached double figures in that department.
Gauff has had 16 double faults across her four US Open wins and the only meeting between this pair this season in Rome in May saw 10 double faults.
Coco Gauff to win
Under 3.5 match aces
8+ match double faults
Pays 31/10
Gauff is a perfect five out of five against Andreeva and can maintain that dominance, but aces may be in short supply.
Both players excel on return and Gauff's last two wins, over Cristina Bucsa and Jovic, featured a total of only three aces.
With the stakes high, double faults could transpire. There were 10 the last time these two players met and the importance of holding will be big here.
