Belinda Bencic takes on Coco Gauff in the fourth round of Wimbledon on Sunday with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
Bencic enjoyed her best at SW19 last year, reaching the semi-final having never previously gone past the fourth round.
The 29-year-old has defeated Mika Stojsavljevic, Xinyu Wang and Anna Kalinskaya to reach the fourth round this year.
As for Gauff, she eased into the second round with a straight-sets win over Tamara Korpatsch before winning in three sets against Solana Sierra and Claire Liu to reach this point of the tournament.
Best Bet – Coco Gauff to win @ 8/11
Alternative Bet – Total sets - 3 @ 11/10
Bet Builder – Gauff to win 1st set, under 0.5 tie breaks in match and Bencic to win a set @ 13/2
Best Bet: Coco Gauff to win @ 8/11
With two Grand Slam trophies under her belt at the age of 22, Gauff is one of the most feared players on the WTA Tour and her sights are now set on Wimbledon glory.
The All England Club has not been a happy hunting ground for the American, who has failed to progress past the fourth round since her debut in 2019.
However, her record over Bencic offers hope that this can be the year she reaches the quarter-finals for the first time.
Gauff holds a 5-2 lead in the head-to-head statistics, winning the last three contests in a row.
The American has been made to work for her last two victories at Wimbledon, both going to three sets, but she should be able to chalk up another win against her Swiss opponent.
Alternative Bet: Total sets - 3 @ 11/10
In the seven meetings between these two, five have gone the distance and there is a strong suggestion three sets will be required in this clash.
Gauff’s last two matches have gone the distance, while Bencic’s third-round encounter with Kalinskaya went to three sets.
This will be the toughest matchup for both players so far and given their prior history, the Wimbledon crowd could be set for a thriller.
Gauff to win the 1st set
Under 0.5 tie breaks in the match
Bencic to win a set
Pays 13/2
Gauff has won the opening set in all three matches at this year’s Wimbledon and she could be set for another quick start.
The American took the opener 6-3 when she faced Bencic in Miami in March, the fourth time in their seven meetings that the Swiss has lost the first set.
Gauff has played just two tie breakers in her eight sets at the championships this year, while Bencic has played only one in seven sets so far.
A total of 19 sets have been played between the pair across their seven meetings, with only three of those needing a tie-break.
Bencic has won a set in all of her last three defeats to Gauff, including their most recent meeting in March this year.
