The Magpies won the EFL Cup for the first time in their history as they beat Liverpool in the 2025 final - a result that secured a first domestic trophy for the club in 70 years.

Despite being involved in the UEFA Champions League, Eddie Howe's side have treated their defence extremely seriously and booked their place in the last four with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fulham.

Should they go and win the competition, they will become just the fifth different football club in history to win it in successive seasons.
