Swansea City have reportedly agreed a £3.5 million deal to sign Canada World Cup star Stephen Eustaquio.
Reports on Tuesday claim the Welsh club have reached an agreement with the Portuguese giants to secure the signing of the 29-year-old, who has been the subject of significant transfer interest this summer.
According to Portuguese website A Bola, the player is "on his way" to Swansea after the Championship side won the battle for his signature.
It's understood the Swans will pay around £2.5 million for Eustaquio with the additional £1 million based on player and club performance related add-ons.
His imminent arrival will further strengthen Vitor Matos' midfield options at the Liberty Stadium, with the Portuguese boss having brought Elijah Just and Leo Walta into the club this summer.
However, whilst Just and Walta offer more offensive qualities, Eustaquio is considered more of a holding midfielder.
He has made 157 appearances for Porto since joining from Pacos de Ferreira in January, scoring 12 goals, including a number of those in continental competition.
The Ontario-born midfielder played a significant role for Canada at the World Cup last month, featuring in all five of their fixtures as they reached the last 16 as well as scoring the crucial goal that saw off South Africa in the round of 32.
The news of Swansea's agreement with Porto comes 24 hours after reports surfaced suggesting the club were readying a move for former England star Conor Coady.
The central defender finds himself down the pecking order at Wrexham with Swansea, amongst other clubs, showing an interest in securing a loan deal prior to next Tuesday's transfer deadline.
