Southampton are reportedly exploring a move to sign striker Justin Njinmah from Werder Bremen.
Njinmah broke into the Bremen first team in the 2023/24 campaign after a couple of successful loan spells with the Borussia Dortmund development team.
The 25-year-old has become a first-team regular over the past three seasons and has made 88 appearances for the club.
However, he is yet to show his goalscoring potential as he has scored just 14 goals in that time, including five in all competitions last season.
German news outlet BILD have reported that Southampton are interested in securing a deal to sign the versatile forward.
It is also claimed that Premier League newcomers Hull City are monitoring the player's situation.
Njinmah was linked with a surprise transfer to Napoli in the January transfer window but he remains available this summer after a move failed to materialise.
Southampton are keen to strengthen in attacking areas as they look to challenge for at least a top-eight finish this season.
They have completed the permanent signing of Cyle Larin following his successful loan spell, but they are still looking for a replacement for Ross Stewart.
Njinmah's versatility means that he could be used as a target man, whilst he also has the necessary pace to get in behind defences.
