One of three events which form the Players Series along with the World Grand Prix and the Tour Championship, the Players Championship was first established in 2011.
Comprising of the top 16 players on the one-year ranking list on an annual basis, we take a look through at all of the previous winners of the Players Championship to date.
2005 world champion Shaun Murphy won the first edition of the Players Championship, then named the Players Tour Championship Finals, back in 2011.
Going on to win the Players Championships for a second time in 2023, Murphy is one of four players to have won the competition twice along with Mark Allen, Judd Trump and Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Seven-time world champion O'Sullivan won the tournament two years in a row in 2018 and 2019.
China's Zhao Xintong is the current champion after defeating former winner John Higgins 10-7 in February 2026.
