The Wuhan Open is snooker's newest ranking event and part of the late summer series of events in China that marks the start of the new season on the baize.
David Gilbert has enjoyed a productive start and was desperately unlucky not to reach the China Open semi-finals last week, so the Farmer looks all set to give Mark Williams a real fight in the last-32 in Wuhan.
The Welsh Potting Machine has been perhaps a little unfortunate in losing to Kyren Wilson and Zhou Yuelong lately and this promises to be a quality tussle.
Best Bet - David Gilbert to win @ 13/10

Best Bet: David Gilbert to win @ 13/10
Gilbert could easily be forgiven if he lingered on last week's China Open quarter-final loss against Zhou Yuelong. The Farmer led that contest 3-0, 4-1 and 5-4, but was pipped at the post by the world number 21, himself a player in fine tune during this China swing.
Gilbert surely will take the positives, however, having trounced Ding Junhui 6-1 in his first assignment and then given world champion Wu Yize a 6-2 beating in the last-16, a contest he dominated from start to finish.
He looked right on course for more success against Chinese opposition before Zhou battled back to force a decider and, indeed, Gilbert had a real scoring chance in that final frame before losing what became a scrappy affair.
Williams knows just how that feels, as the 52-year-old left-hander was last in action when beaten 6-3 by Zhou in the last-32 at the China Open - running into a barrage of breaks that included three centuries.
Gilbert has lost the previous three major tournament meetings, last defeating Williams at the 2019 World Championship in Sheffield, but his form over the last month in China suggests he can turn over the Class of '92 icon.
Alternative Bet: Total frames over 7.5 @ 4/5
Whichever way this match falls, it is expected to be close, and it would be a shock to see a one-sided outcome. Backing a minimum of eight frames could be the wise play.
Williams was a 6-4 winner at the UK Championship last November in their most recent meeting, a game that could have gone either way.
Gilbert lost that deciding frame in China last week, while both of Williams' matches at the Shanghai Masters went the distance as he beat Chris Wakelin then lost to Wilson.
Eight of the nine frames in Williams' loss to Zhou in the China Open were taken with a one-visit success. Gilbert made four centuries in defeating Ding and Wu Yize in the same event.
Both of these players are scoring well and, if they get chances, can put frames on the board. A close finish is forecast.
