Shannon Ryan has been installed as the odds-on favourite to avenge the sole loss of her professional boxing career when she trades leather with former foe Emma Dolan for a second time on the undercard of Dalton Smith vs Alberto Puello.
Ryan holds both the Commonwealth and IBF Inter-Continental super-flyweight belts heading into Saturday night's clash and will be out to claim the British title that Dolan currently possesses.
While Ryan boasts pre-fight 4/11 favouritsm it was actually her opponent who reigned supreme the first time the two met in the summer of 2024, prevailing by virtue of a somewhat contentious split-decision.
Dolan -- 2/1 to repeat that victory -- dropped Ryan late on in the second round with a thumping right, and whilst many felt she recovered sufficiently to take hold of proceedings, it was the underdog who was declared the winner.
Since then, Ryan has embarked upon a significant rise up the 115lbs ladder, beating the likes of Fara El Bousairi and Chloe Watson to propel herself onto the periphery of a world title opportunity -- one that should come her way in the new year with victory in Sheffield.
