Shanghai Masters final match stats as Judd Trump captures title for a second time with victory over Kyren Wilson

Judd Trump further enhanced his credentials as world number one after overcoming Kyren Wilson in the final of the Shanghai Masters.

Trump raced into a 7-3 lead at the interval on Sunday, before returning for the second session later in the day and finishing off the job, securing the four frames he needed to complete an 11-6 victory.

Wilson had hoped to make a successful defence of the title after lifting it for the first time 12 months ago, but struggled to keep pace with Trump whose contributions of 73, 62 and 67 put him in the early ascendancy.

Wilson did respond to cut the deficit to just one frame, however Trump roared back by taking each of the final three frames of the afternoon session and the first of the evening, to put himself on the brink of victory.

Wilson hit back though by winning the next two to threaten a fightback, including a classy 103 break, but lost each of the next two frames on deciding blacks, before the world number one hauled himself across the winning post in the 17th frame of the match.
