Sean O'Malley will look to continue his ascent back towards title contention when he takes on bantamweight contender Aiemann Zahabi on the UFC's landmark White House event on Sunday night.
Sean O'Malley in Round 3 - 17/2
Following back-to-back defeats by Merab Dvalishvili, Sean O'Malley returned to the win column in January with a vintage performance against Song Yadong at UFC 324.
O'Malley's victory coincided with the landscape changing at 135lbs, with Petr Yan reclaiming the bantamweight title by defeating Dvalishvili over five rounds late last year.
'Suga' already holds a win over Yan, and as one of the biggest stars in the promotion could put himself on a collision course with the champion if he is able to get his hand raised this weekend.
Zahabi enters the fight riding a seven-fight win streak but MMA expert Adam Catterall insisted that O'Malley will use his momentum to secure victory and earn a rematch with Yan.
"I think the third round against Song Yadong showed Sean O’Malley getting back to what he’s really good at," Catterall said on bet365 Cageside. "Good volume, accurate striking, picking off his opponent at range.
"I think if he starts like that in this particular fight then he’s going to have a straightforward night. His skillset on the feet is absolutely exquisite.
"I’m going to go for Sean O’Malley to stop Aiemann Zahabi in the third round of their contest."
