Ilia Topuria is a heavy favourite as he prepares to defend his UFC lightweight title against Justin Gaethje at the White House on Sunday night.
Topuria enters this weekend's landmark event in the midst of arguably the most impressive three-fight streak in the history of mixed martial arts.
After knocking out Alexander Volkanovski to claim the featherweight title in February of 2024, Topuria defended his belt against fellow all-time great Max Holloway, becoming the first fighter to KO the Hawaiian.
He subsequently made the move up to 155lbs to take on Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight belt and scored yet another highlight-reel stoppage by knocking the former champion out just two minutes into the first round.
Topuria has previously alluded to a potential move up to welterweight to challenge reigning champion Islam Makhachev, but first he must defeat Gaethje - one of the most exciting fighters ever to grace the Octagon.
When Topuria announced a brief hiatus from competition Gaethje stepped into the void, defeating Paddy Pimblett in January to become the interim champion for the second time in his career.
Now the American will get a third chance of securing UFC gold on the biggest stage of all in the main event of UFC Freedom 250.
(Odds will display when the market is available)
The pair have traded barbs in the lead up to the contest, with Topuria vowing that he will finish his opponent in the very first round.
The Spaniard is currently 19/10 to claim victory by KO, TKO or DQ in the opening five minutes.
Gaethje has been knocked out three times in his illustrious career, with Eddie Alvarez, Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway the only fighters to have done so across his 32 fights as a professional.
While a significant underdog, he has demonstrated an ability to prevail after a firefight, and Gaethje is currently 12/1 to get the win on the judges' scorecards.
