Leicester Tigers v Exeter Chiefs Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Leicester Tigers will aim to sign off an unbeaten Gallagher Prem season at Welford Road by taking care of visiting Exeter Chiefs on Sunday.

The Tigers are chasing down a top-two finish in the Gallagher Prem and the possible home semi-final that accompanies it.

They travel to Bath on the final day with their fate in their own hands if they win this contest after Bristol's win against the Blue, Black & Whites on Friday night.

Exeter, meanwhile, go into this game in fifth place and will be hoping to stay there across the final two rounds of matches.

The Chiefs face Saracens at home on the final day and look sure to need a win from one of their remaining fixtures to finish in the top four.

Leicester Tigers v Exeter Chiefs Prediction

Best Bet: Leicester Tigers -11.5 points @ 10/11

Leicester have made just a couple of changes from the team that beat Sale Sharks 47-33 at the Corp Acq Stadium in the last round of games.

England U20 international George Pearson comes in to replace the injured Freddie Steward, while Charlie Titcombe starts at fly-half to replace James O'Connor.

With Ross Vintcent injured, back-rower Ethan Roots returns to the starting line-up for the Chiefs, who could also give Zack Wimbush his first league appearance of the campaign off the bench at centre.

Exeter boss Rob Baxter has understandably played down reference to his sides' heavy Prem Cup final defeat at Welford Road in the spring, when both teams made changes.

Leicester ran in 10 tries then and have won the last four home Prem Rugby games against Exeter by an average of 22.25 points.

The Tigers are finishing the season strongly and Geoff Parling's side could yet set themselves up for a home semi-final if they eke out two more wins.

The Chiefs are wobbling, losing four of their last five games, and may struggle to stay within 12 points here.

Alternative Bet: George Pearson first tryscorer @ 16/1

Freddie Steward continues to rehab from a thump problem and should return for the play-offs but in his absence Pearson gets the nod at full-back.

Pearson's opportunities in the Gallagher Prem have been limited but the 6ft 3in talent scored a try in the Champions Cup defeat to Stormers in January, running a superb line in an impressive display in Cape Town.

He's also crossed over twice in the Prem Rugby Cup this season and could mark his first Prem start of the season with the opening try. He can be backed at 7/5 as anytime tryscorer.

Leicester are hefty favourites and the Tigers have averaged more than 20 points to spare on Exeter in winning the last four home Prem Rugby clashes between these rivals.

The hosts are 2/7 for victory and it's worth going a step further, with the Tigers to have more than a converted try to spare at the finish.

In the last six Prem Rugby meetings here at Welford Road, the average total points has come in north of 56 points.

A similar target looks possible now after both teams played out high-scoring games last time - Leicester winning 47-33 at Sale and Exeter beaten 41-24 at Harlequins.

Will Wand starts at outside centre for Leicester and can get on the scoresheet. He's got five Gallagher Prem tries this season amid nine across all competitions and has proved a good acquisition since joining from Coventry.

The boyhood Tigers' fan has established himself nicely, won the Gallagher Prem Player of the Month award for March and can cross the whitewash as part of this bet builder.
