According to reports, Reading are eyeing a move for 31 year-old Wrexham centre back Dan Scarr.
An EFL journeyman, Scarr joined ambitious Wrexham from Plymouth Argyle for around £300k in 2024, when the Red Dragons were a League One outfit.
He initially struggled to make an impact at the Racecourse, making just 20 appearances across all competitions in his first season, as Wrexham secured automatic promotion to the Championship.
Despite the step up to the second tier, Scarr featured in more matches for Wrexham last season, playing 24 matches across all competitions, including 20 Championship contests.
Having been an EFL regular throughout his career, it's no surprise that the 31 year-old has been linked to pastures new as he looks to secure more regular game time.
According to reports from Football Insider, League One side Reading are lining up a move for the Wrexham man, as they look to bolster their defensive ranks for the new season.
The Royals are looking to build on a 12th place finish last season and make a sustained push for the promotion places, but lost their opening match of the season 4-3 against Luton Town, having led 3-1 after 38 minutes.
Reading aren't the only side credited with an interest in the experienced defender, with a number of Championship sides said to be in the running.
Having signed a three-year contract upon moving to North Wales, Scarr's current deal expires at the end of the current campaign, making any potential deal for the former Birmingham City man a market opportunity.
