For both England's Crystal Palace and Spain's Rayo Vallecano, the clash marks their first-ever final in a UEFA competition, as a result, both clubs have a chance to make history in the tournament's climax on Wednesday, May 27.
The Eagles, managed by Austrian coach Oliver Glasner, secured their spot in the final after eliminating Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk with two victories in the semi-finals.
Similarly, Iñigo Pérez's squad won both of their semi-final legs against French club Strasbourg, each by a 1-0 scoreline.
At stake is not only the coveted trophy, now in its fifth edition, but also a guaranteed spot in the League Phase of the following season's Europa League. In short, victory carries a double reward.
The Conference League final will be hosted at the Red Bull Arena, the home ground of RB Leipzig. The stadium, which opened in 2004 and was later used for the 2006 World Cup, has a capacity of 42,959 spectators.
A modern and functional venue built on the site of the old Zentralstadion, the Red Bull Arena is located in the Zentrum-Nordwest district, near the Elsterbecken canal.
The stadium is no stranger to hosting high-stakes matches.
The RB Arena hosted five games during the 2006 World Cup, famously won by Marcello Lippi's Italy. More recently, it was the stage for four matches at Euro 2024, including Italy's 1-1 draw against Croatia in the final Group B game.
That thrilling match saw Luciano Spalletti's side equalize in the eighth minute of stoppage time through a Mattia Zaccagni goal, securing their place in the round of 16 before being eliminated by Switzerland.
The Red Bull Arena takes over from the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław, Poland, which hosted last season's final where Chelsea defeated Real Betis 4-1.
This will be the first time the Conference League final is held in Germany, with previous finals having taken place in Poland, Greece, the Czech Republic and Albania.
