Raheem Sterling is back on the market as a free agent after his short-term contract expired with Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord.
It's quite hard to establish what level Sterling is at after playing less than 500 minutes since the end of the 2024/25 campaign, but we do know that he's far from the player that lit up the Premier League for so many years.
With that said, the forward is just 31-years-old and may feel like he still has something left to give, whether than be in Europe, Saudi Arabia, America or elsewhere.
We take a look at where the four-time Premier League winner could be plying his trade next.
Crystal Palace
In years gone by, reports have stressed Raheem Sterling's desire to stay in London, indicative of his season-long loan spell at Arsenal during the 2024/25 campaign. After an underwhelming eight-game spell with Feyenoord in the Netherlands, could he be tempted by a return to the English capital?
While it's unclear as to whether any top-flight London clubs would be willing to take a punt on Sterling given his recent inactivity, Crystal Palace were reportedly amongst the clubs keeping tabs on his situation during his contract stand-off with Chelsea.
The Eagles will play a minimum of 48 games in the 2026/27 campaign after qualifying for the Europa League, and so the need for depth is vital. While they're not necessarily short in the forward department, a firing Sterling -- who is no stranger to European football -- could prove a handy player to have.
Fulham
On a similar note, West London outfit Fulham have been credited with interested in the former Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea man before.
Sterling was amongst the options considered on deadline day last summer, and while the Cottagers opted to push forward with moves for Kevin and Samu Chukwueze, bringing 31-year-old to Craven Cottage this summer could prove easier given his free agent status.
Sterling's financial demands will be something that all interested parties will have to take into consideration, with the winger believed to have earnt £325,000-a-week at Chelsea. If he lowers his demands, could Fulham re-enter the picture?
CR Vasco da Gama
Reports emerged in August that Sterling has been offered to Brazilian outfit CR Vasco da Gama.
It's a career path that Jesse Lingard chose as recently as March, signing a one-year deal with Corinthians following the expiry of his contract with South Korean K League side FC Seoul.
It's yet to be seen as to whether Sterling wishes to leave Europe for the first time in his professional career, and it's said that he would need to accept a significant pay cut to facilitate a move to Brazil.
Any Saudi Pro League team
While the Saudi Pro League has attracted some household names over the years -- including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane -- it's still viewed by many as a division where older players go to receive one final, outrageous payday.
Only Sterling himself will know if he's at that stage in his career, but it'd be naive to rule out the Middle East as a potential destination.
